Bread Machine Recipes - Julie D.

Braided Bread

1 ¼ cup warm milk
2 tsp yeast
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
3 cups flour

Put ingredients in bread machine on “dough” setting. Let rise to the top (approximately 1 ½
hours) Dump on floured surface. Press down to approx. 12 x 5. With pizza cutter, cut 3 strips for
braid and 5 strips for weave, not cutting all the way through pinching the end together. Place
on cookie sheet with parchment paper. Bake in preheated oven 350° for 19 minutes.

Cinnamon Bread

• Same Recipe as Braided Bread

Dump dough on floured surface and cut in half. Roll out to about 8x10. Spread on ¼ cup
softened butter. Sprinkle ¼ cup brown sugar. Sprinkle on cinnamon. Roll up and pinch edges.
Can cut into cinnamon rolls at this point OR cut down lengthwise through the roll with pizza
cutter. Place one on top of cookie sheet with parchment paper. Bake at 350° for 19-20 minutes.

Glaze

¼ cup melted butter
1 – 1 ½ cup powdered sugar
1 – 2 tsp Mexican Vanilla
1-2 Tbsp hot water (or to your desired ocnsistancy)
Pinch of salt
Mix until smooth and pour over warm bread.

Jalapeno Bread

• Same Recipe as Braided Bread
Half the dough like you would the cinnamon bread. Spread on ¼ cup of butter. Spread on 4-6
cloves of fresh garlic minced. 1-2 cups of grated pepper jack cheese. 1 can of pickled jalapenos
(or less). Spread over cheese. Roll up like you would the cinnamon bread and pinch edges. Cut
down lengthwise through the roll with pizza cutter. Place one on top of the other to form an X.
Twist both sides and pinch ends. Two of thee breads can go on one cookie sheet lined with
parchment paper. Bake at 350° for 19-20 minutes.

Scones

1 cup warm water
2 tsp yeast
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp butter
1 egg
3 cups flour

Put ingredients in bread machine on “dough” setting. Let rise to the top (approximately 1 ½
hours) Dump on floured surface. Roll out and cut with pizza cutter to desired shape and size.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Electric frying pan or woks are the best because
you can control the heat. 350° - 375° for the oil.

Honey Butter

2 cubes butter
¾ cup honey
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
Whip butter until creamy and light yellow. Slowly add honey. Add yolk. Whip about 5 – 10
minutes. Fold in vanilla.
