Chocolate Crackles - Mom (my childhood favorite)

 4 squares unsweetened chocolate

1/2 cup oil

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

2 cups sifted flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt


Melt chocolate in mixing bowl over hot water. Remove from water and blend in oil and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and stir into chocolate mixture. Chill soft dough for several hours or overnight. Shape into small balls and roll in powdered sugar. Bake on greased baking sheet at 350 for 10-12 min
