Our Halloween night tradition!
Ingredients:
potatoes
carrots
celery
onion
chicken broth
milk
ham steak
butter
flour
cheddar, shredded
• Cover the following with the chicken broth (a little higher) And simmer for 15 minutes until tender.
2 cups potatoes (2-3 potatoes, peeled and diced small)
1 cup chopped carrots
1 onion chopped up
1 cup celery chopped
• Add 1 quart milk & 2 cups chopped ham.
• In sauce pan, whisk 1/2 cup melted butter and 3/4 cup flour and cook for a minute. Add hot soup to this and think it out before adding to the rest of the soup, so you don't get lumps of flour.
• Add 2 cups grated cheddar.
