Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies - Mom

 One of my favorite childhood memories

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup cocoa

1 3/4 cup flour

1/2 tsp soda

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix in order given. Drop by small tsp on greased baking sheet. Bake 10 min at 350. Take out of oven and put 1/2 of a marshmallow on top with cut side down. Return to oven for 2 min. Take out of oven and press warm marshmallow down. When cool, ice with:

2 cups powdered sugar

5 tsp cocoa

dash salt

3 T butter (melted)

4 T canned milk

Beat until creamy
